Digital Rights Management (DRM) Capabilities
The NetIS integrated DRM model enables Content managers to define specific modules of content to be sold, and set prices for both individual content items and linked content "collections". The charge per content varies according to usage; if the user wants to save the data he will be charged more than if the data is simply viewed or printed. And the fine-tuning goes even further: If the user purchases the right to print the content, the publisher can pre-determine the number of times the user is allowed to perform that specific action before he will be asked to pay again.
A similar gateway ensures that unauthorized users cannot run away with the digital goods. Based on "lightweight" browser-client components, the DRM system is completely transparent. It is only when the user attempts to perform a restricted function that he is blocked, and given the opportunity to pay the appropriate licensing fee.
